Lauren Moss, Candidate for Casuarina

Hi, I’m Lauren Moss. I’m the Labor candidate for Casuarina in the upcoming by-election. I’m a Territorian and have lived in Casuarina for the past 11 years. I grew up in Nakara and my parents have taught in local schools.

My Bachelor of Business was gained through Charles Darwin University and Monash University. As a Territorian I have invested here, running a small business supporting young Territorians into jobs and providing professional development to further their careers.

My community and youth development work has been recognised locally and nationally. I was honoured to receive the Excellence in Youth Leadership award at the NT Young Achiever Awards, the NT Pride of Australia Young Leader Medal. I was a finalist in the NT Young Australian of the Year, Darwin City Council Young Citizen of the Year and the Australian Woman’s Weekly Women of the Future.

The electorate of Casuarina is a brilliant place to grow up with its diverse cultures and vibrant community. Like Kon Vatskalis, I have an multicultural background, my grandfather is Indian. I will work hard to be a strong representative for our multicultural community. My partner, Jake and I, have bought our first home and understand the cost of living pressures facing Territory families.
As a long-time local, I understand the local issues and am passionate about being a strong voice for the people of Casuarina. I have met many residents who are concerned about cuts to health and education and the CLP hikes to the cost of living, that are making it harder for families.
Your support for me will ensure I can help protect local families from the damaging policies of the CLP and send them a strong message to stop hurting Territory families.
