About Trish

Trish Crossin has lived in the Northern Territory for more than 30 years and was elected to the Senate in 1998.

She is the first woman from the NT to be elected in to Federal Parliament and is currently the Chair of the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee.

Trish has a Bachelor of Education and has taught in Melbourne, North-East Arnhem Land and Darwin.

Prior to entering the Senate, Trish worked as an Industrial Officer with two education unions, the NTEU and the AEU.

Trish is involved with several community groups, she’s patron of the NT Netball Association, committee member of the Asthma Foundation NT and the NT Aids and Hepatitis Council, and is a proud life member of the NT Working Women’s Centre.

In her spare time she enjoys cooking mudcrab for friends and family, and doting on her grandchildren.

Trish Crossin is the Duty Senator for Solomon.
