Tony Sievers

Tony Sievers – Labor’s Candidate for Brennan

Tony has lived in Bakewell, part of the Electorate of Brennan, for over 30 years. He is a father of five, one daughter and four sons.

Tony is currently the CEO of Motorsports NT and previously the Member of Brennan from 2016 to 2020. Tony has a strong work ethic and was crucial to the delivery of the new Palmerston Hospital, the new Palmerston Police Station, the new Zuccoli School, the new Bakewell School Kiss and Go and many more developments in Palmerston during his tenure as the local member.

Tony believes there is a lot he can do for Palmerston and Brennan. He is a hard working member of the community and passionate about delivering for the electorate.

Tony has been involved in many different sports clubs over the years, playing and coaching AFLNT teams and racing Speedway cars.  He has been President and player of NT Rugby Clubs, Cricket clubs, Touch Football teams and was involved in the Boxing arena.

Tony knows that communities that participate in sport and recreation build stronger, safer places and the kids are healthier and happier and have a sense of belonging to a team.

Tony has worked in a number of Senior Executive and operational positions throughout his professional career, including Police, Correctional Services, Tactical Response Group (TRG), Youth and Adult rehabilitation programs and with various Health Services.

As a former Local Member of Parliament with 4 years’ experience in the Government, Tony held portfolio’s as an Assistant Minister for Veterans, Sport and Men's Health.

Tony’s academic qualifications include a Graduate of Australian Institute Company Directors (GAICD) 2018, a Graduate Alcohol & Other Drugs, Monash University Melbourne 2013 and a Graduate of Business Management, Western Sydney University 2001.

Improving community safety in Brennan is a key focus for Tony and he will work hard to deliver youth boot camps and more support services to help young people who are struggling to get off the roundabout of substance misuse.
